We are now two weeks into the Georgia High School Football season and we are still learning a lot about who the cream of the crop is in 2024. The Milton Eagles got a big win in an interstate battle with American Heritage of Florida. The Eagles victory gives them further credence to their top ranking in Class 5A, and quite possibly as the best team in the state of Georgia.

Before we round out the rest of Class 5A, let’s take a look at Class 6A, our top 8 are unchanged, as Carrolton retains the No. 1 spot. Walton and Collins Hill make their debut this week at No. 9 and No. 10 respectively. Back to Class 5A, we mentioned the Milton Eagles, as they sit at No. 1 again this week. All of the other team’s in the ranking held serve with the exception of Woodward Academy, who suffered a 7-point defeat at the hands of Class 6A Collins Hill. That loss drops Woodward to No. 10 while Roswell moves up one spot to No 9.

Class 4A remained unchanged with the exception of Creekside dropping two spots to No. 5. Cartersville still sits atop of Class 4A. Class 3A saw a little bit of change. Unranked Class 4A Harris County upset Troup County by 4. That loss drops Troup 5 spots down to No. 7 this week. Meanwhile Mary Persons is in the rankings for the first time this week at No. 10. Pierce County leapfrogs Prince Avenue Christian to take the No. 1 spot in the Class 2A poll this week. All of the other teams remained unchanged.

Class A D-1 saw an upset as Fannie County handled Rabun County 28-7. The win by Fannie catapults the Rebels into the No. 7 spot while Rabun, who was No. 1 last week, falls to No. #10 this week. Toombs County is our new No. 1 in Class A D-1, while. Bremen rounds out the poll at No. 10. Finally, in Class A D-2, Irwin County retains the top spot, while Seminole County makes their rankings debut this week at No. 10.
