Our Week-5 polls have been published and are listed below.
There was a little shuffling of positions in the 7-A poll this week. Colquitt County remains a top the poll. Walton and Parkview both move up one spot, Walton had a big win against North Gwinnett while Parkview beat Tift County. Perhaps the biggest surprise was Roswell downing rival Milton. Milton still sits at No. 8 in this week’s poll.
The top-10 in 6-A remains relatively unchanged. The Sequoyah Chiefs were the only movers in the poll as they jump two spots in the poll after a very impressive win over Campbell.
In 5-A Dutchtown comes in at No. 10 and makes their first appearance in the poll this season. Rome outlasted Carrollton in a wild contest on Friday night. Buford moves back up to No. 2 with a win over Newton coupled with a Warner Robins loss to Colquitt County.
St. Pius came up with a very big win on Friday night defeating the Marist War Eagles 17-0 on Friday. All other teams in the top-10 either won or were off in 4-A.
3-A Peach County fell to 4-A Mary Persons. That loss dropped the Trojans down to No. 4 this week in the 3-A poll. They swap places with Monroe Area this week. The remainder of the poll remains unchanged.
In 2-A, Callaway falls one spot after losing to 4-A Troup County. Brooks County beat Dublin. The loss drops the Fighting Irish to No. 10 this week. The Harlem Bulldogs move up one spot to No. 9 after defeating Laney on Saturday.
Clinch County drops one spot after losing to Irwin County on Friday. Mt. Zion Carroll also dropped a spot after falling to Christian Heritage out of Dalton. Trion slips to No. 10 after losing to North Cobb Christian.
The top 10 in class A-Private remains unchanged again this week. There are several schools on the cusp of cracking the top-10 including Christian Heritage and North Cobb Christian.
