Week 6 brought several notable changes to the TFR Georgia High School Football Rankings, with some surprising losses creating opportunities for new teams to enter the Top-10. Class 4A saw the most movement as three ranked teams fell, opening the door for three new teams to join the rankings. Class 3A also experienced significant changes after losses by Worth County and Hapeville, while Class A saw another change at the top. Meanwhile, the Top-8 remained unchanged in Class 2A, and there was no movement in Classes 5A and 6A.

There weren’t a ton of surprises at the top of the rankings this week, as Valdosta was on a bye and the rest of the Top-8 picked up wins, most rather handily. Buford had to come from behind to defeat Grayson, but the Wolves remain unscathed.
Perhaps the biggest surprise was North Paulding upsetting Marietta. The loss drops the Blue Devils from the Top-10 this week. Meanwhile, Archer’s appearance in the Top-10 was short-lived, as the Tigers were handled by Roswell on Friday night.
6A
There was no movement in Class 6A this week, as all of the Top-10 either won handily or were off.
5A
Four of the ten teams in Class 5A were off this past week, while all of the teams that were in action picked up double-digit victories. As a result, there is no movement in the Top-10 this week.
4A
Class 4A saw the most movement this week, all coming at the bottom of the rankings, as last week’s No. 7, No. 8 and No. 9 teams all suffered losses.
Baldwin fell to Howard, North Hall was upset by Flowery Branch, and Oconee County was blanked by Jefferson. That opened the door for Howard at No. 8, Mary Persons at No. 9 and Westover at No. 10.
Howard and Mary Persons are making their debut in the rankings this week, while Westover returns to the Top-10 after dropping out last week.
3A
Worth County dropped its second straight game this week and tumbles all the way down to No. 9. Hapeville also fell to Columbia by 13 points, which knocks the Hornets out of the rankings this week.
Both Rockmart and Burke County move up two spots to No. 7 and No. 8, respectively. Meanwhile, Lumpkin County rounds out the Top-10, making its first appearance of the season after defeating East Forsyth on Friday night.
2A
The Top-8 in Class 2A remains unchanged this week. Notable victories included Fitzgerald defeating Class 3A Worth County and Commerce putting up 85 points in a shutout victory over Chestatee.
Rabun County dropped its second straight game and falls out of the rankings this week. The Wildcats are replaced by the Cook Hornets, who were off this week but had an impressive victory last week over Class 4A West Laurens.
A
The carousel at the top of Class A continues to turn, as Lincoln County dropped a game to Strom Thurmond out of South Carolina. The Red Devils fall to No. 2 and are replaced at the top by Johnson County after the Trojans blanked Wilcox County 57-0.
Truetlen replaces Montgomery County after the Vikings defeated Montgomery by 14 points to make their debut in the rankings. Charlton County also finds its way into the Top-10 at No. 10 after defeating Early County and an Irwin County loss to Berrien.
Private
Hebron Christian was the only team in Class 4A–2A Private to lose this week, as the Lions fell to Hart County. The loss drops Hebron Christian one spot to No. 8, while ELCA moves up to No. 7.
The rest of the Top-10 remains unchanged.
