Week 4 brought plenty of movement to the TFR Georgia High School Football Top 10 as several ranked teams suffered surprising losses and new teams made their way into the rankings. While some of the top teams remained firmly in place, losses by McEachern, Houston County, Marist, North Oconee, Westover and others created opportunities for new faces to break into the Top 10. From Class 7A down to Class A, this week’s rankings feature several notable movers, newcomers and teams looking to bounce back after tough losses.

Class 7A
The Top 9 in Class 7A remained unchanged this week, but the McEachern Indians dropped out of the Top 10 after falling to Gainesville. That opened the door for the Archer Tigers, who enter the rankings at No. 10 this week.
Class 6A
The Houston County Bears tumble out of the Top 10 after losing to Central-Carrollton in overtime Friday night. That result moves most of the teams up one spot, including Gainesville, which picked up its first win of the season. Meanwhile, Sequoyah returns to the rankings at No. 10 this week after a dominating performance on Friday night.
Class 5A
Marist battled valiantly but came up short against Brookwood. The loss drops the War Eagles to No. 3 this week, while Blessed Trinity moves up one spot to No. 2. North Oconee also dropped two spots after falling to Jackson County. Meanwhile, the Central-Carrollton Lions return to the rankings at No. 10, replacing Warner Robins, which lost its second consecutive game of the season.
Class 4A
Westover’s stay in the Top 10 was short-lived as the Patriots were blanked by Cairo. They fall out of the rankings this week and are replaced by Oconee County, which defeated Discovery on Friday night.
Classa 3A
Class 3A was shaken up from almost top to bottom as Worth County fell to Class 2A Thomasville. Morgan County, Hapeville Charter and Burke County also found themselves on the losing end of their respective games and dropped in this week’s rankings. The biggest mover was Northeast-Macon, which climbs all the way to No. 4 this week.
Class 2A
Rabun County and Swainsboro are the only two teams in our Class 2A rankings to suffer losses Friday night. The Wildcats drop to No. 9, while Swainsboro falls one spot to No. 10. The Commerce Tigers are the big movers, climbing two spots to No. 8 this week.
Class A
Order has somewhat been restored in Class A. The only loss among the ranked teams came from Bowdon, which fell to Heard County in a matchup that was almost inevitable. Washington-Wilkes makes its debut in the rankings at No. 10, replacing Emanuel County Institute, which lost to Bleckley County on Friday night.
Private
Prince Avenue Christian welcomed back Andrew Beard, who played for the first time this season, and the Wolverines picked up a big win over Greater Atlanta Christian. GAC falls to No. 6 this week. Meanwhile, North Cobb Christian drops one spot after losing to Wesleyan. Christian Heritage makes its debut in the rankings at No. 10, replacing Savannah Christian, which falls out of the Top 10 after losing to Fellowship Christian.
