Class 7A

The Lowndes Vikings came from behind to defeat Valdosta in the Winnersville Classic in Class 7A this week in a matchup of two Top-10 powerhouses. The two teams swap spots in this week’s rankings, while all the other teams in action picked up convincing victories.

Class 6A

In Class 6A, Thomas County Central defeated Coffee in a matchup of Top-10 teams. Despite the loss, Coffee remains at No. 9 this week. Meanwhile, the East Paulding Raiders make their first appearance in the rankings, replacing Roswell, which drops out despite being idle this week.

Class 5A

Class 5A saw Jefferson pull off an upset over North Oconee on Friday night. The victory moves the Dragons up three spots to No. 6, while North Oconee tumbles from No. 5 to No. 8. The Tucker Tigers also suffered an upset loss, falling to the Lithonia Bulldogs. Tucker drops four spots to No. 10 this week.

Class 4A

The top seven teams in Class 4A all picked up convincing victories. However, Westover and Northwest both suffered losses on Friday night and dropped out of the rankings. Their departures make room for Calhoun and North Hall, which enter the Top-10 at No. 9 and No. 10, respectively.

Class 3A

The seemingly improbable happened in Class 3A on Friday night as Toombs County was taken down by the Appling County Pirates. Appling County is now the lone unbeaten team in Class 3A and takes over the No. 1 spot, while Toombs County drops to No. 2. Meanwhile, KIPP suffered its second consecutive loss, falling to Wesleyan and dropping two spots to No. 10.

Class 2A

The top nine teams in Class 2A were all victorious on Friday night. However, Brooks County dropped out of the Top-10 after being shut out by Fitzgerald. That opened the door for Swainsboro to return to the rankings at No. 10.

Class A

There was one Top-10 matchup in Class A this week as the Clinch County Panthers handily defeated Charlton County on Friday night. The result creates a three-way tie for first place in the region, with Mitchell County also in the mix. Clinch County moves up one spot to No. 7, while Charlton County falls to No. 9.

Private

There were no changes in the Private School Top-10 this week, as all nine teams that took the field picked up victories.
