TFR Class 2-A State GHSA Quarter-Final State Previews – 2 of 2

This might be the most difficult classifications in the GHSA playoffs this year. All of the remaining teams are serious title contenders. There are even two matchups, (Rabun County vs Screen County and Hapeville vs Benedictine) that would have mad a dandy of a state title game. There is really no easy path to the title for any time. I would highly recommend if you are in the vicinity of one of these games to get out and watch them compete this week.

Our second preview will feature the Thomasville-Heard County game and the Hapeville-Benedictine matchup. The winners of these games will play each other on December 1st in the semifinals.

TFR Class 3-A State GHSA Quarter-Final State Previews – 2 of 2

The road will gets a little tougher this week as we reach the 3rd round of the state playoffs. Our favorites to make it to the MBS, GAC and Cedar Grove are still alive, but both will face stiff tests this week. Last week Pike County upset Crisp County and this week they’ll have their eyes set on the defending state champions, Cedar Grove. Perhaps the best matchup of the 4 games is the GAC-Jenkins game which will be played in Pooler.

Our second preview will feature the Cedar Grove-Pike County game and the Calhoun-Liberty County game. The winners of these two games will play each other in the semi-finals on December 1st.

TFR Class 4-A State GHSA Quarter-Final State Previews – 2 of 2

The favorite to repeat, Cartersville, was upset last week by the Blessed Trinity Titans. There will be a new champion, and the field is wide open. Marist is probably the favorite now that Cartersville and highly ranked Ridgeland fell last week.

There are four private and four public schools remaining in the 4-A playoffs. In our second preview we will look at the Blessed Trinity-Thomson game and the Jefferson-Mary Persons game.

The winners these games will face each other in the semi-finals on December 1st.

TFR Class 5-A State GHSA Quarter-Final State Previews – 2 of 2

There have been no big upsets in class 5-A. The usual suspects have made it to the quarterfinal round. 6 #1 seeds are here along with two very good #2 seeds in Jones County and Carrolton. These are all heavy weight matchups and similar to Class 6-A, this will be the first time any of these teams have met each other on the field.

Our second preview will feature the Carrollton-Warner Robins game and the Carver-Jones County game. The winners of these games will face each other in the semi-finals on December 1st.

TFR Class 6-A State GHSA Quarter-Final State Previews – 2 of 2

There have been no real big surprises thus far in the Class 6-A playoffs. Favorites, Tucker and Lee County won their games by double figures. Expect the road to get a lot tougher this weekend. There is not a lot of familiarity this week as 3 of the 4 games will be the teams first meeting. While Lee County and Mays have only met once, in last seasons second round game.

Our second preview will feature the Mays-Lee County game and the Harrison-Glynn Academy game. The winners of these games will face each other in the semi-finals on December 1st.
