This week’s GHSA rankings saw plenty of movement outside the top spots, with several key matchups shaking up the middle and lower portions of the rankings. Top-10 battles in Classes 2A and 3A led to significant changes, while several new teams made their debut across the classifications.

Class 7A
There were no changes in Class 7A this week, as most of the Top 10 were off. Buford, Carrollton, Valdosta and Brookwood all picked up convincing victories to remain in their respective spots.
Class 6A
Thomas County Central flexed its muscle with a 23-point road win over Lee County. Despite the loss, Lee County remains at No. 2 this week, as there were no changes to the Class 6A rankings.
Class 5A
Blessed Trinity outlasted Marist on the road in a battle of Top-3 teams. The Titans remain at No. 2, while Marist, despite dropping its last two games, stays at No. 3. The Mays Raiders jump into the rankings at No. 10, replacing Dalton, which was upset by Cedartown.
Class 4A
The Top 7 in Class 4A remains unchanged. Troup got a scare from Mary Persons but managed to hold on for the victory. Westover moves up a couple of spots, while Mary Persons’ stay in the rankings was short-lived. The Adairsville Tigers and Northwest Bruins round out the Top 10 this week. The two teams will meet Friday in Varnell.
Class 3A
Toombs County maintained its stranglehold on the No. 1 ranking in Class 3A with a win over Pierce County. With the loss, Pierce County drops to No. 3 as the Bears swap spots with Northeast. The bottom of the rankings was shaken up this week, as Columbia, Crisp County and KIPP all make their debuts at No. 8, No. 9 and No. 10, respectively.
Class 2A
A couple of Top-10 matchups shook up the Class 2A rankings this week as Dublin defeated Bleckley County and Jeff Davis knocked off Fitzgerald. Dublin jumps from No. 4 to No. 2, while Jeff Davis moves from No. 6 to No. 3. Fitzgerald drops three spots to No. 5, while Bleckley County checks in at No. 6.
Class A
The Top 7 in Class A remains unchanged, but previous No. 8 Treutlen was defeated Friday, making its stay in the rankings a short one. Treutlen is replaced by Trion, which comes in at No. 10 this week.
Class 4A-2A Private
The Top 6 in Class 4A-2A Private were all victorious this week. Hebron Christian dropped its fourth game of the season but remains ranked at No. 8 following a four-point loss to Morgan County. Lovett drops from No. 4 to No. 6 after being shut out by KIPP. Meanwhile, Wesleyan picked up a big win over Gimer and moves into the rankings at No. 9 this week.
